Organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, this year the series comprises the China Coast Regatta and the Offshore Category 1 race which goes to Vietnam in 2008. The China Coast Regatta on October 10-12 is Hong Kong’s premier ‘big boat’ regatta. It attracts entrants from Hong Kong and overseas, particularly Asia. Vinacapital Hong Kong To Vietnam Race
HONG KONG – VIETNAM
This Category 1 offshore race on October 15, is known as one of the great ‘downhill’ sled rides. This is the fourth time the race has been held, and more overseas entries are expected this year. The record for the 656nm race to Nha Trang in Vietnam is currently held by Grant Wharington’s Skandia Wild Thing, which made the crossing in 42 hr, 45 min, 41 sec, in 2004. Bring a big boat and beat that!
