Crash, but no burn
The opening day of the eye-poppingly spectacular iShares Cup, part of the Skandia Cowes Week programme, produced three spectacular capsizes and this high-speed collision. The crash left Franck Cammas' BMW Oracle Racing with a smashed bowsprit and crumpled front beam, and a hole in the side of BT. "We were in the wrong position at the top mark," said Cammas, "we touched at about 20 kts and…" BT skipper Nick Moloney added, "it was like being in a pinball machine in the gusty 25-30 kt winds."
